NaPoWriMo 2018 begins!

The prompt for April 1 is to write a love poem to an object.

Easter Parade                                                                              pretty-woman-contemplative-contemplating-young-157731.jpeg

You always were the no frills type,
still I felt grand with you,
a single silken bloom, not
overlooked, an everlasting rose.

My proudest moment was with you,
our closeness on parade.
You, in my heart and on my brain
an image to be made.

You halo me in fine white straw
as we stroll the avenue,
and even though we take the fifth
we know our love is true,

not the stuff of moonlit sonnet,
just a lovely Easter bonnet.
